I know I take a lot of photos of sunsets. I have become THAT photographer so now I really do try to limit myself to ones that are really worthy of sharing. I was location scouting a few weeks ago up in the backroads of Angeles National Forest and I forget sometimes how amazing the views are. This gave me the opportunity to shoot in black and white. While I shoot with muted tones most of the time, I never really do fully monochromatic photos nearly as much as I should. Especially considering most of my photographic hero’s and education was in B&W.
For today, the purpose of this trip was to look for locations that would be perfect for a mystic themed shoot with my friend Aubrey Davis. She’s a great make-up artist and animal rights activist based in L.A. I will post the photos of that shoot in the next couple weeks so come back and have a look when they are posted.
The Grape Vine
This is my secret spot up in the hills. While I have shot here many times before, It’s always a fun challenge to try to capture something new out of a subject and to try to look at it with a different perspective. Having a new Fuji camera doesn’t hurt either.
